Wow…
DragonCon…
What a gas… I’m still recovering.
We got back to St. Petersburg at about 1:00AM Tuesday, and I had to go to work in six hours, so sleep has been a short commodity of late. I took a bunch of pictures of the fantastic costumes, and should have them up soon, but the real bonus of the trip was the great people I got to socialize with.
Tracy Akers, Michelle Weston and Sandy Lender, three great fantasy authors, shared drinks and tales of woe and triumph with us. Please visit their sites, they are very special and talented, and I hold them in the highest regard.
My dear friend Jana Oliver dropped by on a break from the Dragon Moon Press table and we talked about all the shake ups in Canadian Publishing… It seems things are just as crazy up there as they are down here. She was very excited to announce that the sequel to Sojourn will be out in October! WoooHoo!
As usual, I poked around relatively little, being welded to the dealer’s table. It was nice to have quite a few return customers, and some begging me to write faster, more and delve into the sequels for Weapon of Flesh and Soul for Tsing, both of which I have already outlined sequels for.
I got the opportunity to meet a fellow Herscher Project writer, Gail Martin, who is very excited about her upcoming release, The Summoner. She is published through Solaris, and this is her debut release. Way to go, Gail!
We took a lot of pictures, as usual, and I’ll have them up on the gallery as soon as I have the time to post them. A lot going on, in preparation for Viable Paradise, and Necronomicon in three weeks… Yikes…
Gotta go, but not before I would like to thank all of my fans who stopped and talked and spent their hard-earned cash on my books. You all are what keeps me going, and I’m not talking about the money.
You all know what I’m talking about…
Cheers!

I walked past your table at DragonCon a few times before I stopped, but I’m SO glad that I did! I bought Weapon of Flesh and read half of it the following day… it was so engrossing I wanted to read it instead of do Con stuff! You are so talented! Such wonderful pace and description, not to mention character development… I’m only sorry I didn’t make it back to buy your other 2 books (which I’m still whining about a week later
). I hugely look forward to reading more of your work!
PS Upon rereading there are a lot of exclamation points in this comment… but they all belong there

Well Thank you Bobbi! I’m sorry you didn’t get the chance to come back, too. You have no idea how much a comment like this does for me. Yes, my fans keep me going. There is no other perk to this business, I am convinced.
Drop me an e-mail and we’ll work a deal on Deathmask and A Soul for Tsing… And for the rest of you satisfied customers out there, tell me what and when you purchased, and we’ll cut you a deal…
Thanks again, Bobbi!
Cheers!

Chris,
DragonCon was a blast! Last year I saw your booth and picked up ‘A Soul for Tsing’, and it was great so this year had to get ‘Weapon of Flesh’. I had it read the day after Con.
I have been telling everyone about your writing, and the interesting story twists…especially about the details that the characters sometimes take for granted…that often come back to haunt. Of course I tell them to go read for themselves too!
Hope to see you at Con next year! I look forward to reading more of your writing soon.
Btw are your books avaliable at most bookstore outlets or online through your site. I have a friends that want to buy. Should I just tell them to contact through your site?

Hey Maron!
Great to see you again, too! Happy to hear that you devoured and enjoyed Weapon of Flesh… I get a lot of return customers, which is one of the most gratifying things in this business.
All of my published novels are available on Amazon.com, or they can be ordered directly from me on this website.
If you are interested in my work, keep an eye on the website. I’m hoping to change things soon, and hope to enlist the help of fans (like you) to spread the word. Word of mouth is, after all, the best marketing tool in the world!
Take care, and spread the word!
Cheers!

I read WEAPON OF FLESH and DEATHMASK IN 2 DAYS, and I cannot wait to read the others.
Thanks for the excellent stories!

Converting them all into Chris Jackson fans, I see.
Not that it’s so difficult to do once they have one (or more) of your books in their hands…
Great to hear you had a wonderful time at the convention!
